Just like us human beings our car can also experience hiccups and they also require some extra care and attention. Here are a few of the common car problems and their solutions to keep you out of trouble.

  1. A warning light shows

There are multiple symbols on your car's dashboard and each symbol has its own meaning. For example, the oil pressure light shows you're running low on oil so it's time to change it, tire pressure warning light indicates your tires are either too high or too low so pull up your car near a gas station and get your tires checked, engine warning light either can popup for various reasons so it's better to get your vehicle checked immediately. Each signal appears for a different reason so make sure to address it before it gets too late and you end up damaging your vehicle at a deeper level.

  1. The engine is sputtering

One of the main and most dreadful car problems is a sputtering engine. There is a variety of reason which can cause engine malfunction, like a blocked or dirty fuel injector, exhaust manifold leak, vacuum leak, dirty oxygen sensors, etc. These problems occur when you don't keep a regular check on your vehicle. Failing to do so causes extreme damages to your car and you end up spending a lot of money on the repairs.

  1. Tires are flat

If you travel on difficult terrain and bumpy roads then your tires are likely to get damaged more frequently. Always carry a spare tire in the back of your car along with car changing tools like a wrench, Jack stand, floor jack, etc.

  1. The battery is dead

A battery acts as a spark of life that gets your car going so when your car battery dies you are basically going nowhere fast. The easiest way to deal with a dead battery is by recharging it with the help of jumper cables. And later on, try changing the alternator to keep the battery healthy.

  1. Fuel economy is poor

Dirty spark plugs affect your car's gas mileage tremendously. Not only this, bad air filters and oxygen sensors can also reduce the mileage by as much as 20%. However, before it gets too late to inspect your car thoroughly and replace the damaged and dirty parts as soon as possible.

  1. The steering wheel is shaking

The main cause of vibrations is either unbalanced wheels or warped brake rotors. If the steering wheel shakes while you're trying to stop the car then the problem is likely in your brakes. It is extremely important to get the issue looked at right away. However, when you're driving at high speed and your steering wheel starts shaking them the problem improperly balanced tires. Tires need to be balanced properly to ensure that the weight is distributed evenly across all the tires.

  1. The starter motor is broken

If your engine doesn't powerup even after attempting jump-start or only the dashboard lights are working then the problem is most likely to be with your starter motor. Under such circumstances, you might need to get your car towed, have it inspected from an experienced technician, and have the started repaired or replaced.

  1. The brake pads are worn

If you start hearing a squealing, or grinding noise when you apply the brake then it's time to change your brake pads. These noises are an indicator that your brake pads are worn out. Not only this, but all your brake parts also have a life span and they need to be serviced regularly if you want them to work properly.

  1. There are cracks in the windscreen

Windshields are made of glass so they can be damaged quite easily. Not only rocks, pebbles, and stones thrown by other cars can crack the windshield by also bad weather and sudden temperature changes cause the glass to contract. However, the windshield must be repaired rapidly because the more you wait, the more quickly the crack is to spread.

  1. There is rust on the car

Rust spots on your car are quite dangerous, they can easily spoil your well-maintained vehicle. But if you clean your car on a regular basis and scrape out rust as soon as it appears then you will be able to stop it from spreading out.

  1. The car keeps overheating

If you see smoke coming out of the bonnet or the engine temperature light blinking on the dashboard then check the coolant level right away. Low coolant level or coolant leakage or fault in radiator fan can cause the overheating. Use a temporary sealant and call the mechanic to have a look.

Some of these problems can be fixed by you but it better to take advice from an expert. However, we know you must have a pretty tight schedule but try to take out some time for your car and take a few precautions to avoid these car issues in the future.
